Introduction:
The outsourced R&D sector in France represents a potential of 80,000
engineers and 70,000 technicians working in the fields of consultancy
and design alone. The GEICET represents a workforce of over 30,000 individuals,
being 20% of the profession in France.
Missions:
The primary mission for the GEICET is to raise awareness about the profession.
First and foremost, the principal targets are university and secondary
school students in order to promote the engineering professions, provide
support for technology education, boost the sector’s appeal and
improve its image.
Furthermore, the GEICET wants to inform public bodies of the role played
by Technology Consultancy professionals in innovation processes, and the
importance of preserving technological expertise.
Moreover, another fundamental objective for the GEICET is to meet the
expectations of major industrialists as regards strategic issues and the
impact of globalisation.
Finally, the Group wants to clarify the setting for inter-professional
relations (clients, public bodies, members, etc.).
